Responsible for managing and administering multiple and/or broad programmatic areas within the technology department. Management of operations is typically achieved through department managers. Incumbents are responsible for incorporating broader policy and guidelines into program policies and procedures; developing and evaluating programs and researching new technologies to enhance services; developing and recommending budgets; and developing community internal/external relationships to coordinate services
1. Develops, supervises, and administers program services and activities; ensures standards, policies, and procedures are current and makes recommendations for change as needed.
2. Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, and maintains a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
3. Ensures that faculty and staff have necessary resources including equipment and supplies, electronic files, and additional staff support.
4. Prepares and/or reviews reports, contracts, proposals and studies; makes recommendations on a wide variety of administrative or management policies.
5. Develops, administers and monitors the departmental budget including allocating resources and approving expenditures.
6. Facilitates, leads, and/or participates in meetings, proceedings, and committees; represents the department at campus meetings and conferences; serves as a liaison between departments, external organizations, the general public, and other agencies.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in a related field and five years progressively responsible experience related to area managed, including three years management or administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
