The University of New Mexico College of Education, Department of Educational Leadership & Organizational Learning invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Organizational Learning and Instructional Technology (OLIT), probationary appointment leading to a tenure decision, beginning August 2011.

The OLIT program provides quality education for individuals interested in improving the learning experiences of adults in school, business, government, military, healthcare, and non-profit organizations through the application of instructional practices and organizational technologies that advance individual, group, and organizational learning. Its mission to the state is the development of individuals who can develop New Mexico's workforce.

Responsibilities: Primary teaching responsibility within the current graduate program in Organizational Learning and Instructional Technology, teach some undergraduate courses, advise master's and doctoral-level graduate students specializing in instructional and multimedia technology, and maintain an active research agenda.
1. completed doctorate by the time of appointment in instructional technology or a closely related field; and,
2. experience with one or more of the core curricular areas including: adaptive learning environments, multimedia technologies, designing learning systems, performance support systems, computer-based simulations, and, instructional design.
1) evidence of potential for conducting research and writing scholarly publications in the above core curricular areas;
2) evidence of potential for teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the above core curricular areas;
3) evidence of potential for supervising and advising graduate students;
4) evidence of potential for collaborative research with faculty and students;
5) experience and interest in working with diverse cultural groups;
6) experience and interest in working with adult learners;
7) experience working in industry;
8) experience teaching at the college or university level;
9) experience and interest in grant writing; and,
10) ability to teach online.
